COVID-19 and Child Health Care Transformation: Crisis and Opportunity
2:00 p.m. Eastern / 1:00 p.m. Central
Thursday, May 21, 2020

Presenters: Charles Bruner, Kay Johnson

Webinar description:

The COVID19 pandemic has had its greatest physical health impacts upon the elderly and infirm, but its disruptions have had their greatest social and developmental impacts upon children, affecting virtually every child. While themselves experiencing severe disruptions to normal practice, many child health practitioners have innovated to continue to provide primary health care services and support children and families in responding to both these disruptions and to their child’s health and development.

This InCK Marks webinar examines the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of child health care transformation, exploring how primary and preventive child health care practices have used virtual well-child visits and developed other tools and strategies to foster child health. The first part of the webinar draws upon interviews and listening sessions with leading child health practitioners to provide an overview of how practices have responded and what has worked to reduce disruptions. The second part of the webinar offers voices from the field -- four practitioners on the frontline who draw from their experiences to indicate how these should inform future policy responses and advance child health transformation.

This is the third in an InCK Marks Child Health Transformation Webinar Series covering all key elements of child health transformation – practice, financing, metrics, and culture. For more information on InCK Marks and child health care transformation, visit
