CFPC Senior Policy Associate  discusses Tax Credits on IPTV's The Iowa Journal
Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m.


(Johnston, Iowa) – CFPC Senior Policy Associate Victor Elias advocated for tax reform on an episode of The Iowa Journal in early February.  The episode looked at how a call for reforms in tax credits may affect Iowa's business climate as well as affect the state budget for services Iowans depend upon.

Host Paul Yeager discussed the economics of tax credit policy in the studio with Elias, Senator Joe Bolkcom and Ed Wallace, president of the Iowa Taxpayers Association.

Voices to Be Heard is a support group for parents and caregivers of children of an incarcerated loved one organized by CFPC Community Outreach Liaison, Melissa Nelson, and family advocate Misty Hansen. This group was created to provide a safe place for the families left behind to find support for themselves, to help their children grow up healthy and grounded, and where possible, to have a positive relationship with their incarcerated parent.

The group meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Union Park United Methodist Church, at the corner of East 12th and Guthrie in Des Moines. For more information, contact Melissa Nelson at 515-280-9027.
