Coalition Against Abusive Lending
CFPC, with Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, staffs the Coalition Against Abusive Lending, a coalition of more than 15 state organizations working to eliminate abusive lending practices -- including those in mortgage lending, refund anticipation lending, and payday lending. The Coalition Against Abusive Lending is focusing upon greater state policy regulation and enforcement to reduce the wealth stripping that occurs through these practices, estimated by the national Coalition for Responsible Lending to cost working and retired Iowans more than $70 million annually.
